New Zealand Rugby League has announced its 2022 World Cup wider squad.
While the tournament is set for next October, the Kiwis’ top 38 squad has been announced as the NZRL works towards a June Pacific Test and Trans-Tasman clash.
Uncapped players in the squad include breakout Broncos back-rower Jordan Riki, Titans dummy-half Erin Clark and Sea Eagles duo Josh Schuster and Morgan Harper.
Head coach Michael Maguire said his players are ready to represent their country after a long lay-off.
“International football has been a challenge,“ Maguire said via a statement.
“But the players’ enthusiasm to represent their country is as strong as ever.
“There's no question as to how much this jersey means to them, and their eagerness to play has never wavered.
“The senior players set a strong foundation and have their eyes focused on the 2022 World Cup.“
