Mark Korda has stepped down as Collingwood president, according to Fox Footy’s Tom Morris.
The Pies will announce the decision as soon as Thursday morning after Korda told his board of his decision on Wednesday.
Korda became president following Eddie McGuire’s resignation in February earlier this year, however, he has faced constant speculation about a challenge from Jeff Browne.
Browne has reportedly gained the support of the Collingwood board and is favourite to take over as president.
It’s believed Korda made the decision for the benefit of the club and to avoid a public incident during the AGM and was not pushed by other board members.
