Lionel Messi scored his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain in his side’s 2-0 win over Premier League champions Manchester City at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday morning (AEST).
Messi’s curling effort on 74 minutes sealed PSG’s first Champions League win of the campaign and sent them top of Group A, level with Club Brugge on four points.
“The most important thing was to win the game against a great side, one of the favourites,” Messi told Canal Plus post-game.
“It’s true that I was getting desperate to score my first goal.
“I hadn’t played much recently, and I had only played once here at home, but I am settling into the team little by little.”
