Star free agent re-signs with Adelaide

2021-09-04T10:48+10:00

Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch has re-signed with the club for two years.

The 26-year-old was sidelined for the entirety of the 2021 season due to a groin injury and was eligible for free agency, but after exploring his options opted to re-commit to the Crows.

AFL Media reports that the deal is on reduced terms, after his management tested the market for alternative suitors in previous months.

“It was always my preference to re-sign with Adelaide and it was just a matter of taking the time to work through where both I and the Club were at,” Crouch said in a club statement.

“I’m excited by our young list and confident in the direction we are heading.

“Although it has been a frustrating year for me personally with injury, I’m now looking forward to getting back on the training track with all my teammates in pre-season and returning to the field next year.

“We are building something special here and I am confident I have plenty of good footy ahead of me as has the team.”

Crouch, who remains in Adelaide’s leadership group, will be looking to get back to the type of form which saw him named in the All-Australian team in 2017.
