Collingwood president Mark Korda will sensationally step down from his role at the end of next season.
Korda, who only assumed the job earlier in the year following Eddie McGuire’s departure, told members on Thursday night that he would step down after his term as a director expired at the end of 2022.
Korda said he wanted to clarify his position following the appointment of Craig McRae as Nathan Buckley’s successor as senior coach on Wednesday.
“I have informed the Collingwood board of my intention to step down as a director at the end of my elected term, the end of the 2022 season,” he said in a club letter.
“My role as president has been to see Collingwood settle, transition and reposition itself on and off the field in the wake of the departure in February of long time president Eddie McGuire.
With a relatively new board in place at the time, it was important to provide continuity between one age and the next.”
The club confirmed that the AGM had been brought forward to December 16, where directors Peter Murphy, Christine Holgate, Bridie O’Donnell and Neil Wilson will be up for re-election.”
