King and Whateley rank their top four seeds after Week 1 of finals

2021-08-30T14:39+10:00

David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds in the AFL after Week 1 of the finals.

These are the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward, coupled with what the teams have shown so far.

Melbourne and Port Adelaide are one win away from a Grand Final, while GWS and the Western Bulldogs kept their seasons alive after winning their respective Elimination Finals.

See their seedings below:

King's seedings

1. Melbourne

“You can’t get away from Melbourne.

“Without the footy is going to be my catchcry for the year.”

2. Port Adelaide

“It would be a great Grand Final (Port Adelaide v Melbourne).”

3. Brisbane

“Brisbane is my three.

“The winner of that (Semi-Final against the Bulldogs) is the only smoky or wildcard for me.”

4. Western Bulldogs

“I don’t think three or four can win a prelim, I’m going to put that on the radar right now.

“But if there is to be someone that can, if the Dogs can gather … they’re my four.”

Whateley's seedings

1. Melbourne

“Melbourne clearly one.

“It would be a surprise now if Melbourne and Port didn’t meet in the Grand Final.”

2. Port Adelaide

“Port Adelaide at two.”

3. Geelong

“I’ve got Geelong as a generous three.”

4. Western Bulldogs

“I’m Dogs at four too.”
