Alastair Clarkson will not coach Carlton in 2022, according to his manager James Henderson.
Clarkson’s future has been one of the biggest stories in the game in previous weeks, after he ended his glittering stint as Hawthorn coach last weekend.
But after considering his future in the game beyond this season, Henderson confirmed Clarkson will take a year off and turn his attention to study and “personal development”.
“Alastair Clarkson’s manager James Henderson has today confirmed that Clarkson Will not coach an AFL Club in 2022,” the statement read.
“He is fully committed to taking the year off to spend time with his family and to undertake further study and personal development opportunities.
“Henderson confirmed that he had received approaches from some AFL Clubs this week but had not advanced any of those discussions.”
