Carlton’s horror injury run has continued, with co-captain Patrick Cripps to miss Saturday’s game due to quad tightness.
The gun midfielder was withdrawn on Saturday morning after being given “every chance” to prove his fitness, the club said in a statement.
19-year-old Corey Durdin will make his debut for the Blues after being given the late call up, joining Brodie Kemp in playing his first game for the club.
Durdin was taken with pick 37 in last year’s draft, after impressing as a small forward at SANFL level for Central Districts in previous years.
Defender Jacob Weitering will captain the side in Cripps' absence.
