Western Bulldogs youngster Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has responded for the first time to a report linking him to a move away from the club, saying he has no intention of going anywhere.
The No.1 pick in last year's draft will finally make his debut after a year which has been spent largely in the VFL, as he bided his time and waited for an opportunity at AFL level.
With Aaron Naughton missing Sunday’s game against Sydney due to concussion, the Bulldogs confirmed on Thursday that Ugle-Hagan will play his much-anticipated first game for the club against Sydney on Sunday.
SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund reported last month that opposition clubs believed there was an “outside chance” of Ugle-Hagan leaving Whitten Oval due to a lack of senior opportunities.
Addressing the playing group after being told of his debut, Ugle-Hagan said he’d be sticking with the Dogs and wouldn’t entertain a trade.
“Obviously it’s been tough scraping through the VFL and doing my best (this year),” he said in a club video.
“It was a good opportunity to play for them because you get to learn new characters and you get to obviously get to join a new team and it’s a challenge.
“And all this talk about trading and stuff, it’s obvious that’s all b------- because I’m not going anywhere.”
