Richmond has confirmed that Samson Ryan will debut on Friday night against St Kilda.
The 20-year-old ruckman/forward will play against the Saints at the MCG after some impressive form at VFL level.
Ryan has played six matches for the Tigers reserves since arriving at the club via the Brisbane Lions Academy, having being taken with pick 40 in the 2020 national draft.
The 206cm Ryan, who happens to be a lifelong Tigers fan, becomes the fifth Richmond debutant in 2021, following Rhyan Mansell, Will Martyn, Riley Collier-Dawkins and Hugo Ralphsmith.
He comes into the senior side on the back of a 30 hit-out performance against Williamstown last weekend. Ryan has kicked 11 goals in the VFL, including four against the Lions in Round 6.
The Tigers currently have Mabior Chol and Callum Coleman-Jones in the team so it will be intriguing to see where the youngster fits in alongside his fellow promotees.
