Co-host of SENZ Drive Kirstie Stanway has named a local athlete who she believes deserves more credit.
Stanway named triathlete Hayden Wilde, suggesting sports fans to look him up.
“Hayden Wilde. He's one of New Zealand's best triathletes, he's a humble, hardworking athlete from the Bay of Plenty and he's doing big things on the world stage. If you don't know him, Google him,” Stanway said.
Among his achievements, Wilde finished 3rd in the 2019 Tokyo ITU World Triathlon Olympic Qualification Event and won the 2019 Devonport OUT Sprint Triathlon at the Oceania Championships.
He was born in 1997 out of Whakatane and currently trains in Tauranga.
When SENZ launches later this year, Stanway, along with former All Black Stephen Donald and highly regarded broadcaster Rikki Swannell, will form the SENZ Drive team.
