Good news as Victorian Government allows crowd for Friday night blockbuster

2021-06-16T12:43+10:00

Up to 7,000 fans will be allowed at Friday night’s game between Geelong and Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium, the Victorian Government announced on Wednesday afternoon.

As part of a further easing of restrictions, members from both the Cats and Dogs living in the Geelong region will be permitted access to the venue.

It’s a considerable boost, after health advice earlier in the week originally banned crowds from the venue, with two other Round 14 games originally scheduled in Melbourne since moved to Tasmania.

The marquee Friday night game looms as one of the highlights of the round, with the Cats fresh off a highly impressive win over Port Adelaide last Thursday night.

The AFL has also confirmed that VFL will return to Victoria as a result of the eased restrictions.
