2021-04-26T12:19+10:00

Western Bulldogs star Josh Dunkley will undergo a full shoulder reconstruction in the coming days, reports SEN’s Sam Edmund.

Dunkley injured his shoulder in Friday night’s win over GWS and is expected to miss up to 16 weeks.

“He needed a miracle to avoid having a shoulder reconstruction, well unfortunately he hasn’t got that miracle,” Edmund told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“He will go under the knife for a full shoulder reconstruction in the next day or two.

“This is a 12 to 16-week injury for Josh Dunkley, his season is certainly not over at this point.

“Four years ago, he had a reconstruction on his left shoulder in Round 7, came back in Round 21. There are two byes that work in his favour – mid-season and pre-finals.

“As good as he is, the Dogs have incredible depth in that department.”

Lin Jong (hamstring) and Tim English (concussion) also picked up injuries in the 39-point victory over the Giants.

The unbeaten Dogs take on reigning premiers Richmond in a Friday night blockbuster at the MCG.
