AFL announces crowd capacities for Round 1 games at MCG and Marvel Stadium

2021-02-26T10:55+11:00

The Victorian Government will announce today the crowd capacities for Round 1 AFL games at the MCG and Marvel Stadium.

Crowds will be capped at 50 per cent, with the MCG allowing for up to 50,000 spectators while Marvel Stadium is set to host up to 28,961.

The news comes as welcome relief for Victorian football supporters after being locked out of all games at MCG and Marvel Stadium during the 2020 season.

Members will be expected to enter ballots to access tickets to blockbuster games, including the season-opener between Richmond and Carlton on Thursday March 18.

The same 50 per cent capacity will be set for AAMI Community Series pre-season games which will begin next week.
