Crouch’s first impressions of King and the two Saints who have stood out

2021-01-19T11:07+11:00

St Kilda recruit Brad Crouch says Brad Hill is primed for a big 2021 season.

Hill’s underwhelmed in his first year at the Saints but the star wingman is ready to atone and drive the club towards another top eight finish.

“I knew he (Hill) was a good player, but I think he’ll be ready for a big year,” Crouch told SEN Breakfast.

“He looks really fit and is an amazing runner. He definitely stands out to me.”

Crouch is also excited to strike a partnership with veteran tap ruckman Paddy Ryder.

“The other one I’m going to enjoy playing with is Paddy Ryder because he can jump up and hit it wherever he wants,” the midfielder said.

Young Saint Max King will look to go to another level this year after an impressive 2020 campaign.

Crouch says King has bulked up during the pre-season and was taken aback by how tall the forward is.

“One thing I didn’t realise is how big he is. He is huge,” he said.

“I don’t want to talk him up too much because he’s still so young but at training he looks unbelievable.”

St Kilda is scheduled to play West Coast on February 19 and Geelong on March 4 in the AFL Community Series prior to the start of the regular season.

The Saints meet GWS at Giants Stadium in Round 1 on March 21.
