The NRL has upheld the decision that player agent Isaac Moses "breached obligations" of his role, causing concern for several big names in the NRL.
The NRL banned Moses' in June after finding that the agent breached his obligations by assisting former Parramatta captain Tim Mannah, who gave false evidence to the NRL regarding the Eels 2016 salary cap breaches.
Moses now faces a second strike to his record, potentially de-registering his management accredication.
With the big names Moses currently manages, the NRL's decision is set to have "wide reaching ramifcations", according to The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio.
“It is significant, he’s facing a second strike,” Riccio said on 1170 SEN Breakfast.
“He was suspended for three months over the Melbourne Storm salary cap saga.
“Keep in mind that this could be a second strike against Isaac Moses, which isn’t a good thing.
“You talk about what impact it could have.
“Firstly, Isaac is in charge of some of the biggest names in the game.
“Josh Hodgson, Aaron Woods, Kotoni Staggs, Tevita Pangai Junior, Mitch Moses and coaches too in Adam O’Brien and Todd Payten.
“Those contracts will suddenly be up for grabs as far as other agents are concerned, and they will be circling like vultures to pick up those contracts."
While Moses faces a ban, Riccio believes the NRL must ensure he can’t keep hold of his players behind the scenes, by handing over control to a colleague.
“The argument is that Isaac could easily hand over the management of those players to a brother or colleague”, Riccio added.
“But my argument is, if they are to de-register Isaac Moses, what is the point of imposing a penalty or a de-registration, if the management of those players goes on with an affiliate of Isaac Moses?
“There could be some serious ramifications, as far as other players.
“Contracts with clubs will suddenly come into question because of the management arrangement with that player.
“It will have wide reaching ramifications.”
