Report: AFL considering two rule changes for 2021

2020-11-16T07:22+11:00

Could we see more rule changes in the AFL next season?

According to Fox Footy, the AFL is weighing up two new rule changes for 2021 to help ease congestion and increase scoring.

The league could cut the interchange cap by 15 meaning teams would have 75 rotations per match. That could drop to 60 rotations by 2022.

The AFL is also considering moving the man on the mark back five metres for kick-ins to allow the kicker more time to dispose the ball.

Playing on from kick-ins was one of nine new rule changes and interpretations introduced for the 2019 season.
