Australian cricket coach Justin Langer has given his thoughts on the ongoing issues between Channel Seven and Cricket Australia.
Channel Seven has reportedly been vocal in their desire to receive a discount on this year’s television cricket rights, stating that the value of the product has been impacted by COVID-19.
In particular, Seven looks to the lack of availability of top-level Australian players in the Big Bash as a reason for this.
Langer hopes both parties can come to the table and work something out.
“I’ve said consistently we’re always looking for win-win situations, we look for partnerships,” the veteran coach told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.
“It’s one of the great lessons of my life through sport about teamwork and partnerships, we’re hopeful everyone will get together and deliver the best outcomes.
“I learned how to play cricket and I learned how to love cricket and AFL footy through watching it on TV since I was a little kid, so let’s just hope that continues.”
Australia is scheduled to take on India in the first test of the series on December 3rd.
