Carlton stars Patrick Cripps and Jacob Weitering will need to pass fitness tests to take on GWS on Thursday night.
The key Blues pair suffered knee and calf injuries respectively in Sunday’s loss to Collingwood and the short turnaround means they will have to get through training for the side’s must-win clash with the Giants.
Both played out the Pies loss with their respective issues and club Director of High Performance Andrew Russell explained their situations.
“(Cripps) has got no structural damage which is great. He’s a test to play and we’ll see how he comes up later in the week,” Russell told the club’s website.
“‘Weiters’ had a calf knock, he’s a test. I think he’s a pretty strong chance of playing.”
In better news, Mitch McGovern will be available for selection after missing a patch of the season with a hamstring injury.
On the GWS side of things, midfielder Josh Kelly has already been ruled out after copping a heavy hit to the head in the win over Fremantle.
