Gerard Whateley and Kane Cornes have delivered their weekly seedings of the teams they believe can win the 2020 AFL premiership.
Whateley and Cornes both have West Coast, Geelong and Richmond placed in the top three spots but the fourth seed is where they differ.
Whateley has Port Adelaide in at four while Cornes opted for second-placed Brisbane over the top-of-the-table Power.
The Port Adelaide games record holder doesn’t think his former club is a “serious threat” for the premiership due to their reliance on key forward Charlie Dixon.
“I think Port Adelaide drop out of seriously challenging for this year’s flag for a number of reasons,” Cornes told SEN’s Whateley.
“I just think they’re too Charlie Dixon focused and I don’t see a solution to that in time.
“Because they’re so conditioned to going to Charlie the opposition just know where it’s going.
“I think it’s going to take some really innovative coaching from Ken Hinkley in the next fortnight to perhaps get him outside 50, similar to what coaches did with Nick Riewoldt, Jack Riewoldt and also Lance Franklin over the years.
“When you’re too reliant on one, shift them to another area to make them a bit more unpredictable.
“I don’t think they’re a serious threat for it.”
