Carlton forward Jack Silvagni will undergo surgery in Perth on Monday, sidelining him for the next 4-6 weeks.
The ITB (iliotibial band) release procedure will aid his recovery from a knee injury, according to the club.
Blues football boss Brad Lloyd said it was a “standard procedure” and would ensure his return to senior action as soon as possible.
“This is a standard procedure that we’re confident will aid Jack’s recovery and we expect him to miss between 4-6 weeks,” Lloyd told the club’s website
The 22-year-old has played just three games in 2020 and has suffered a number of injuries this year, including a bruised lung and fractured rib sustained in Round 4 against Essendon before his current knee injury.
