Geelong midfielder Patrick Dangerfield was full of praise for coach Chris Scott, following his decision to take a full 100 per cent pay cut during this postponement period.
To help his club and to show solidarity with the football department and assistant coaches who have had to bee stood down, Scott informed the club that he didn’t need to be paid.
“He would be hating the fact that that’s gotten out,” Dangerfield told SEN’s Whateley.
“He’s the most wonderful speaker I’ve ever listened to, but he can’t talk about himself to save his life.
“That’s the sort of person he is. He’s as selfless as they come.
“I didn’t look at it and go ‘wow’, I just thought that’s Chris. That’s why I’m really defensive about him when people question him as a coach, they just don’t know.”
The postponement period is currently set to end on May 31st, however many expect it to be extended as the COVID-19 situation worsens.
Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson will also reject a large chunk of his salary, according to the Herald Sun.
