Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has been told “not to worry” amid fears a teammate has contracted coronavirus.
The Dockers released a statement on Monday night revealing a player has been sent for precautionary testing after developing flu-like symptoms.
There are fears the player has been exposed to coronavirus by a friend who recently travelled to China.
According to The Age, Sam Switkowski is the Docker undergoing testing.
“It’s a very low risk. Given how serious this virus is, we are stepping through the process,” Fyfe told SEN Breakfast.
“The phone has been running hot last night and this morning.
“I’m not sure what protocols the AFL will step us through, and I think this is probably the start of potentially something much bigger at some point through the year. This thing doesn’t look like slowing down or stopping anytime soon.

“I’ve been on planes across Australia six times over the last month, so my chance of being in contact with someone who’s been overseas is pretty high.
“But we’ll just keep stepping through the protocols with as much information as he can and see where it leads up.
“I’ve been told at the moment not to worry too much but just to watch it with caution and notice.”
