11-time NBA All Star and Hall of Famer Allen Iverson has named his top 5 players of all time.
The former MVP and 4-time NBA scoring champion spoke on new podcast Load Management, telling hosts Zach Frydenlund and Adam Caparell, “I love Steph (Curry) so much. That’s why I made him my (all-time greatest) point guard, I love him so much. I think he changed the game."
“(He’s) the greatest shooter that will ever play the game, that what I think. The greatest basketball player that I’ve seen with a jumper and handles like that. I’m just a big Steph Curry fan.”
“Then obviously Mike (Michael Jordan), Kobe (Bryant), Shaq (O’Neal).
“Oh, and LeBron (James).”
Iverson also defended the right of sports writers and fans to talk about and analyse the game despite having never played.
“I hate when people say, ‘well you ain’t never played the game’ - you don’t have to have played the game to know the game.
“You know what the hell you looking’ at. You looking’ at Halle Berry, you know she pretty. You seein’ that this guy is 0 for 13 from the field, you see he can’t score, he can’t shoot.
“You can’t say a fan don’t know what he talking about, or a writer don’t know what he’s talkin’ about - just to say that they never played the game, that ain’t right, I don’t like that.”
