Star forward Jeremy Cameron is set to knock back offers from multiple Victorian clubs and re-sign with the GWS Giants.
The Herald Sun reported on Thursday the Coleman Medallist is set to sign a deal for as long as seven years worth roughly $1 million per season.
The 26-year-old is currently eligible for free agency at the end of 2020.
Tim Watson welcomed the news, saying the forward wouldn’t come cheap but the price was well worth it.
“I think he’s a million-dollar player for seven years,” he said on SEN Breakfast.
“As (Garry) keeps saying to me, he (Cameron) plays one of the most important positions on the ground.
“I still think there’s a bit more upside for Jeremy Cameron, I don’t think it’s cheap but it’s a fair price and it’s a great deal and they’ve locked them him for a (reported) six or seven years.”
Cameron will join other high-profile re-signings at the Giants such as star midfielder Stephen Coniglio and forward Toby Greene if he pens the reported new deal.
