The year of the caretaker coach is complete with St Kilda appointing Brett Ratten as their permanent coach for 2020 and beyond.
According to Channel Seven’s Tom Browne, St Kilda is tonight ratifying the decision with an official announcement to come as early as Friday morning.
Since replacing Alan Richardson in Round 18, Ratten has led the Saints to three wins from six games.
Ratten joins Carlton’s David Teague and North Melbourne’s Rhyce Shaw in landing a full-time senior role since taking over on a caretaker basis.
The Saints job will be Ratten's second senior head coaching role after six years and 116 games at the Blues.
