St Kilda will confirm Brett Ratten’s appointment as senior coach within the next 48 hours, according to AFL Record senior writer Ash Browne.
Ratten won three of six games since replacing Alan Richardson as caretaker coach mid-season and looks set to land the role on a permanent basis.
It would be the 48-year-old’s second senior position having coached Carlton between 2007-2012, winning 60 of 120 games in charge.
Former North Melbourne coach Brad Scott was touted as a leading candidate for the job but will reportedly take up a position at the AFL.
St Kilda added Hawthorn champion Jarryd Roughead to its coaching ranks for the next three years in a wide-ranging off-field role.
Brett Ratten’s appointment as the permanent senior coach of St Kilda is imminent. Expected within the next 48 hours.
