St Kilda has added Hawthorn champion Jarryd Roughead to its coaching ranks for the 2020 season.
The recently retired Hawk joins the Saints on a three-year deal in a wide-ranging full-time position.
Roughead will specialise in list management, leadership and mentoring and work with the club’s young key position players.
“I’m looking forward to working across the football program and with a really talented young group of players, and contributing where I can to their development,” Roughead told saints.com.au.
“St Kilda presented an appealing role and have a very clear direction in where they want to take the club over the next few years.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and thank them for the opportunity.”
Roughead, 32, brings a wealth of experience having played 283 games in the brown and gold, winning four premierships.
He officially begins work at RSEA Park in November prior to the commencement of St Kilda's pre-season.
