Future NBA Hall Of Famer Tim Duncan will return to San Antonio as an assistant coach.
Duncan spent 19 seasons in the NBA with the Spurs, winning five championships, three Finals MVP awards and two regular seasons MVPs, before retiring following the 2015-16 season.
Now 43, San Antonio drafted Duncan out of Wake Forest with the No. 1 pick in 1997 draft.
He played all 19 seasons under current San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich, and the pair are the only two that have been a part of every Spurs championship (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014).
"It is only fitting, that after I served loyally for 19 years as Tim Duncan's assistant, that he returns the favour," Popovich quipped.

Duncan was also a 15-time All-Star, and the Spurs retired his No. 21 singlet when he called time on his glittering career.
Will Hardy, who first joined the Spurs as a basketball operations intern in 2010 after graduating from Williams College, also joins Popovich's staff.
