Brisbane midfielder sidelined for up to two months

2019-05-28T12:18+10:00

Brisbane midfielder Jarrod Berry will be sidelined for up to two months after complaining of knee soreness following the Round 9 win over Adelaide.

Berry, 21, will go under the knife to have a Baker’s cyst removed from his right knee, meaning he will won’t be back until the end of the season.

The Lions youngster was forced to miss Sunday’s one-point loss to Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

“After discussions with our medical team and Jarrod, surgery was agreed upon as the best solution going forward,” GM of Football David Noble told lions.com.au.

“With Jarrod having a previous Baker’s cyst, we have some previous information on how his body reacts to these and used that information to help us make an informed decision.

“We anticipate that his return would be around six weeks but will have a clearer picture once he has his surgery.”

Berry averages 20.8 disposals and 3.7 tackles from his nine matches in 2019.
