Hawthorn captain Jarryd Roughead had a meeting with in-demand Gold Coast forward Tom Lynch, as the Hawks continue to chase the out of contract star.
“We learn today that two weeks ago Hawthorn captain Jarryd Roughead actually caught up with Lynch on the Gold Coast and talked about all things regarding Lynch’s future,” SEN Time On host Sam McClure told SEN’s The Sporting Capital.
“Still haven’t been able to get to the bottom of exactly what Roughead was doing on the Gold Coast. I think people close to him think he was making an appearance somewhere else and that he just decided to catch up with Lynch.
“He did reach out, sent him a text, Lynch caught up with him.
“It is fairly significant because it’s not every day a captain of an opposition team, particularly one that has had as decorated and distinguished a career as Jarryd Roughead clearly has, makes an effort to go one-on-one with someone who is still considering their future.
“I don’t think it’s going to make a major difference because I do still believe that Tom Lynch will end up at Richmond.”
