Essendon champion Tim Watson says Bombers youngster Aaron Francis is a “natural”, as the 20-year-old prepares for his season debut tonight.
Francis has been named in the Dons’ team for the blockbuster clash against Sydney, after he battled mental health issues earlier in the year.
According to Watson, Francis’ story is one that deserves attention.

“A really slow build-up, he missed a lot of the preseason, he went back, came back to football, has obviously played a lot of VFL footy this year and is ripe to go,” Watson told SEN Breakfast.
“We wish him all the best because his story has been a tough story over the last few years. He is a natural.
“I think he is one of those guys that it’s never going to show up probably on the training track or at a lower level, but I think he is one of those guys that can just play football.”
Francis has played five games across his career, 10.6 disposals per game.
