North Melbourne have revealed their new club logo, the seventh in the club’s 147 year history.
The new logo depicts a fierce looking kangaroo, with the club’s name now more prominent after having played second fiddle to the Kangaroos moniker in recent times.
North Melbourne CEO Carl Dilena says that the new logo symbolises the bolder, stronger vision for the future the club has.
“The whole theme is around being a bit bolder and stronger and it started a few years ago with the reframing of the whole shinboner spirit and our internal processes around culture and values and it’s sort of built upon that,” he said on SEN Breakfast.
“There’s a lot of legacy themes in there about staying in North Melbourne and not getting pushed around anymore and being a bit stronger as a club as well, so it’s a lot bolder and stronger a brand than we’ve had in the past.”
Earlier, David Schwarz says that the new logo is the best the club has ever had.
“If you’re a Kangaroos supporter, buckle in because this is the best logo they’ve ever had,” the Ox said.
“This is revolutionary…whoever drew it, it is a good kangaroo and at long last, it’s got a little bit on mongrel about it.”
